A huge thank you to those of you who voted for me.  I received 12% of the votes (474), so not a shabby result considering my votes were split with a fellow independent in a Conservative stronghold ward.

Hello and welcome to my website.

Paulette Furse - Polly, to those who know me. I live in Ide Hill I am a Parish Councillor for Sundridge with Ide Hill and would like to introduce myself to you, as your Independent choice for District Councillor for the fabulous; picturesque Ward of Brasted, Chevening and Sundridge.

From Blackheath, South East London, I moved to Beckenham, Kent - a victim fleeing domestic violence, before finally moving to Sevenoaks in 1993. I worked for an Accountancy firm in Westerham for many years, where I eventually met my husband who is now a FCCA Accountant. We have three daughters, a dog and a cat! Whilst raising my daughters I started up a bookkeeping company in the district that has now been in operation since 1999. My previous employments based in London included working in accounting for British Telecom and The Prudential, before moving to Kent where I worked as a Business Manager for Natwest bank in Tunbridge Wells and as a Finance Manager in Brasted for Catch 22.

As previous Clerk to Chevening Parish Council I worked with KCC to ensure potholes in our roads were dealt with quickly, I made sure that resident reported faults such as lighting around the Parish were fixed promptly and flood water issues worked on. As a Parish Councillor, I ensure that I am kept up to date with new initiatives by attending local council workshops and events. At the moment, I am working on an Emergency Plan for the Parish to ensure that our Council continues to serve our residents well in extreme winter weather.

As your District Councillor I would give you a true unfettered voice – I care about the increase in Council Tax, is this fair? the environment; the speed of traffic traveling down our narrow roads; ensuring we get a regular bus service so that everyone has the opportunity to get out and about. Recently, I joined other Councillors in notifying residents in Sundridge of the Covers Farm proposal, which would result in 290,000 HGVs passing through Sundridge and Brasted: 200 in each 11 hour day, 6 days a week! I really care about the ward I live and work in.

Elect me as your Independent District Councillor and I will represent you unreservedly - campaigning for positive change, for benefits that would see our ward flourish.  The Ward of Brasted, Chevening and Sundridge is a beautiful one, we are a great and inclusive community, a ward to be cherished a ward that deserves time and devotion.  I want to devote time to this ward, bringing an unencumbered voice for all residents, on the District Council.

Vote for change - VOTE Paulette Furse your Independent District Councillor
